The preparations for IPL 2025 are in full swing as franchises await BCCI's decision on retention policy. There are reports that the apex cricket board will announce their decision during their Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this month.

The franchise owners are divided over the upcoming mega-auctions as most teams want the mega-auction to be scrapped off and increase the retention list to around 6-7 players from the current policy, allowing just four players to be retained.

Meanwhile, every camp is buzzing with a few rumours that they are trying to rope in big stars as a part of the trade deal. There are reports that KL Rahul might be traded to RCB, and even Suryakumar Yadav was reported to be heading to KKR with an offer.

The fans are elated with these rumours as there were 'KL, KL' chants outside Chinnaswamy Stadium when the LSG skipper arrived there for his Duleep Trophy match. However, much to everyone's dismay, the trade cannot happen.

Here is Why KL Rahul Cannot Be Traded To RCB?

The reason why Rahul cannot be traded to another team is because of the rules set by BCCI. As per the league’s trading regulations, no teams can go for a trade deal before the mega-auctions. The trading window that opens before the auction is only during mini-auction years.

Therefore, even if Rahul and RCB are interested in a move, they first have to wait till the mega-auction. Which means that either Rahul has to be retained by LSG and then go for a trade and release him and let Rahul go under the hammer at the mega-auction. This adds an element of uncertainty, as there are no guarantees that RCB will secure Rahul’s services, given the competitive nature of the auction.

KL Rahul Breaks Silence On His Trade To RCB

Recently, Rahul broke his silence on the matter as a video is spreading like fire on the internet where a fan asks KL about his possible move to RCB, and the star right-hand batter replied, 'Let's Hope So.'

“I am a die-hard RCB fan. I have been following RCB for a very long, and you playing past in RCB, and now definitely the rumours; I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come into RCB and rock here,” the fan said, to which KL replied by saying, “Let’s hope so.”
