Virat Kohli Switches From Rinku Singh; Gifts His Bat To RCB's Akash Deep Before Bangladesh Tests

India's rising star Akash Deep is on cloud nine as he received a bat from ex-India captain Virat Kohli. The Bengal seamer took to Instagram to share the news. Notably, Deep earned an India call-up for the upcoming Bangladesh Test series and will share the same dressing room with Virat, who too arrived in Chennai on September 13.
Every budding cricketer in India aims to represent the country and meet their idols. Akash Deep fulfilled his dream recently as the Indian side are sweating hard in the nets in Chennai ahead of the first match on September 19 at the Chepauk Stadium. The right-arm seamer clicked a selfie with Virat and in return, he received a bat, as a token of gratitude from Virat.
Deep's Performance In Domestic Cricket
Akash Deep has emerged as one of India's finest bowlers in 2024 as he made his international debut in the final Test against England in March 2024, but could not share the field with Virat, who was not a part of that series. Although, it is worth noting that the two are teammates in RCB as the right-arm seamer has been associated with the three-times finalist since 2022.
While Deep is waiting to play in his second match for India, he shone in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, where he took a nine-wicket haul in the first round which featured a five-wicket haul in the second innings.
Rinku Singh's Quest For Virat Kohli's Bat
When it comes to Virat's bat, Rinku Singh is the first name that pops up in the head as the KKR star batter has often surrounded Virat in his quest for a new bat. Virat had once gifted one of his bats to Rinku, who mistakingly broke it and asked for another one from Virat.
Since then, it has been a fun banter between the two as Rinku is often seen chasing Kohli in search of a new bat from Ex-RCB captain.
