On Monday, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will lock horns with each other in the final ODI of the ongoing three-match series. The high-octane clash is scheduled at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

BAN vs SL 3rd ODI: Team Previews

Bangladesh

Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh had a dream start to the series, registering a clinical six-wicket win in the first game. However, the Lankans fought back remarkably, making the scoreline one-all with a thrilling three-wicket victory in the subsequent affair.

Skipper Shanto has been the top performer for the Tigers, amassing 162 runs at a blistering strike rate of 96.42 in two outings.

Besides his consistency, the recent performances from Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar and Towhid Hridoy has certainly encouraged the hosts before the all-important finale.

However, the abysmal batting form of Litton Das compelled them to exclude him from the squad for the final ODI, with Anamul Haque Bijoy likely to replace him in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, the Tigers have been superb with the ball, with Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed showcasing their new ball prowess and Tanzim Hasan playing as the perfect fiddle alongside Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

So, moving on to this encounter, there's barely an area of concern for them, as they start as clear favourites to clinch the decider.

Sri Lanka

On the other hand, Sri Lanka had a forgettable outing in the first ODI, as the Tigers crushed them, chasing a modest 256-run total convincingly. However, Pathum Nissanka's sensational ton saved the visitors from embarrassment in the next game, helping them stay alive in the series.

Barring Nissanka, swashbuckling left-hander Charith Asalanka emerged as the wrecker-in-chief with the bat for Sri Lanka, as his 91-run knock guided them to glory during the tense run-chase.

However, before the 3rd ODI, the visitors have been rocked by a setback, with Dilshan Madushanka being sidelined for the game due to a left hamstring injury.

So, the Lankan lions must hope for a more disciplined performance from the rest of their pacers, who haven't been as effective as their Bangladesh counterparts on the tour.

BAN vs SL 3rd ODI: Chattogram Pitch Report

As it's a day game, the surface at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium might assist the seamers early on, offering lateral movement. However, with the sun drying up the moisture, the pitch will become a belter to bat on before bringing the spinners into play in the latter half. Considering the recent track record, the toss-winning side might take the safe route by electing to bowl first.
