The PSL 2024 Eliminator 2 turned out to be quite an interesting affair as Islamabad United delivered a strong performance after initially put under the pump by Babar Azam and co. It seemed that Peshawar Zalmi will storm into the final but the duo of Imad Wasim & Haider Ali stood tall against odds and left Babar Azam frustrated as Zalmi bowlers failed to execute their plans at the death.

One such incident was in the 17th over, when Haider Ali smashed Luke Wood for a boundary. The fact that it was the second boundary of the over and the match was slipping away from Peshawar Zalmi, created frustration for Babar Azam who just could not believe that his premier bowler is bowling all over the place when his team needed him to stood up.

It was a short delivery, outside off. There for Haider Ali to throw his hands and he did that perfectly smashing it over the point region for a boundary. Two ball earlier, Imad Wasim was also handed a freebie and Babar Azam was seen gesturing aggressively to his bowler with some unkind words accompanying him.

In the end, Islamabad United registered a five-wicket win with both Imad Wasim and Haider Ali smashing unbeaten fifties and booked a place in the final where they will take on Multan Sultans.
