The first round of the T20 World Cup has concluded, and the Super 8 stage is set to begin from Wednesday. Co-hosts USA will kick off this exciting round against South Africa at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

As co-hosts, the USA automatically qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024, but they exceeded expectations by advancing from their group, notably overcoming 2022 T20 World Cup runners up, Pakistan

The upcoming match against South Africa on West Indian soil will be a significant challenge for the American team, testing their abilities against a top-tier opponent.

Throughout the tournament, the USA showed their strength, with their only loss coming against India and a game against Ireland being washed out.

By making it to the Super Eight, the USA has also secured their place in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.

A major positive for the USA heading into the Super Eight game is the return of their skipper Monank Patel, who missed the match against India.

Patel, who scored a fifty against Pakistan, will be crucial in the game against South Africa. Key players like the in-form Aaron Jones and Indian origin pacer Saurabh Netravalkar, along with Ali Khan will also be important for the USA tomorrow.

The experience of Corey Anderson, combined with South African-born players Andries Gous and Shadley van Schalkwyk, who have extensive domestic experience in South Africa, adds strength to Monank Patel’s squad.
