On June 18, India's star batter and former captain, Virat Kohli, put another feather to his cap as he became India's most valued celebrity.

Consultancy firm Kroll released a list of the most valued Indian celebrities where Virat surpassed Ranveer Singh to top the list with a brand value of USD 227.9 million (1901 crores). Virat increased his overall brand value by nearly 29 per cent this year. Singh, who topped the list last year, slipped to 2nd spot with a brand value of USD 203.1 million (1,693cr). 

Third on the list is Bollywood's superstar Shahrukh Khan, whose celebrity value is worth 1001 crores. Talking about Virat, he enjoys a massive fan following and has dominated the list released by Kroll for the past seven years.

Notably, Virat has been topping the list since 2017 except in 2022 when Ranveer Singh went ahead of him. The former India skipper is also the most followed Asian on Instagram with a following of 269 million followers. 

Shedding light on his on-field performance, Virat is going through a slump as he has scored just 5 runs in this World Cup. All eyes would be on him to make a mark against Afghanistan in India's first Super 8 game on Thursday, June 20.

Legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni climbed one spot on the list with a brand value of USD 95.8 million. Dhoni stepped down as the leader of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise ahead of IPL 2024. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was placed eighth on the list with a brand value of USD 91.3 million.
