In an unprecedented achievement, Babar Azam, the star Pakistani batter and captain of Peshawar Zalmi, has made history in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by becoming the first player to clinch the title of the leading run-scorer in three different seasons.

Babar's latest feat came in the PSL 2024, where he amassed an impressive 569 runs across 11 matches for Peshawar Zalmi, marking his name as a standout performer in the league's history.

The former Pakistan captain and top-ranked T20I batter showcased his exceptional talent by securing the Hanif Mohammad Cap for the third time, following his top-scoring performances in the 473 runs (2020) and 554 runs (2021) PSL seasons.

His 2024 season run tally not only contributed to his team's efforts but also saw him becoming the fastest cricketer to reach 10,000 runs in the shortest format of the game, further cementing his legacy in T20 cricket.

Babar's journey in the PSL 2024 was nothing short of spectacular, with his batting prowess on full display. He hit one century and five half-centuries, contributing significantly to Peshawar Zalmi's campaign. Notably, he also became the first player to cross the 3,000-run milestone in the PSL, showcasing his consistency and dominance in the league over the years.

After a challenging phase following the ICC World Cup 2023 and a Test series against Australia, Babar bounced back, demonstrating his class in the Bangladesh Premier League and T20I series against New Zealand.

His resurgence in form has set the stage for high expectations at the upcoming T20 World Cup in June 2024, where fans and critics alike anticipate Babar to replicate his performance for the Pakistani team with the same vigor and skill that defined his PSL 2024 journey.
