There is a lot of discussion going on about what India's playing XI might look like in Ranchi for the fourth Test of the five-match series against England, starting on Friday, February 23.

As a victory at the JSCA International Stadium Complex would help Rohit Sharma-led India take an unassailable lead in the series, there have been numerous reports regarding how they field a lineup.

With Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul both unavailable, a debutant, if not two, will get a chance to shine, similar to what happened in Rajkot during the third Test.

As per numerous reports, Akash Deep, the right-arm quick from Bengal who also plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, is expected to receive his maiden international cap. He will replace Bumrah, as India are set to choose him as Mohammed Siraj’s partner in pace the department.

In another scenario, India may bring in Devdutt Padikkal in place of another RCB sensation, Rajat Patidar, who has not had much impact in Rajkot. During the third Test, Padikkal was the substitute fielder when R. Ashwin was unavailable due to family reasons, and the southpaw, who was in impeccable form on India's domestic circuit, was given the opportunity to play.

However, keeping Rahul Dravid’s old-school formula in mind, Patidar will get another chance, which means Padikkal will have to wait for a while.

The other members, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav are likely to retain their places.
