In a massive development, England have confirmed their playing XI for the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series against India. The visitors have made two changes to their XI that participated in the Rajkot Test, replacing Mark Wood and Rehan Ahmed with Ollie Robinson and Shoaib Bashir, respectively.

After securing a memorable victory in the first Test in Hyderabad, England succumbed to crushing defeats in the subsequent matches in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.

While Rehan has been hit all around the park, Wood has scalped only four wickets in two games at a mediocre strike rate of 94.25. It’s believed that their poor performances have led to their exclusion from the English XI for the Ranchi Test.

Meanwhile, Bashir, who was dropped after a forgettable debut in Visakhapatnam, returns to the playing XI as a replacement for Rehan Ahmed. Furthermore, Robinson has won the management’s trust, owing to his ability to consistently bowl in the channel.

Despite being off-colour with the bat, Jonny Bairstow retains his place and would be keen to regain his mojo in the Ranchi Test.
