Rishabh Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, has faced criticism after a series of poor performances in the IPL 2025 season. However, in dire times, he intends to back himself and trust the process rather than having self-doubt.

Pant, who was bought for a massive INR 27 crore at the mega auction, has struggled to live up to expectations with scores of 0, 15, 2, 2, 21, 63, 3, 0, and 4 in IPL 2025. These performances have resulted in a total of just 110 runs at an average of just over 12 and a strike rate just below 100.

Despite the criticism, Pant remains focused on the bigger picture, which is to lead LSG to victories.

Rishabh Pant Unbothered By Rough Patch In IPL 2025

Meanwhile, after his recent failure against MI, Rishabh Pant was questioned regarding his poor performance. He admitted that it's been a difficult season but shifted the focus on the necessity of not overthinking.

He also highlighted that cricket is a team game and that, even though personal performances are important, the ultimate factor in a successful team lies elsewhere.

“Keeping it simple and not thinking about it too much. In a season like this, where things are not going your way, you’re going to start questioning yourself as a player – that’s not something you want to do. When the team is doing well, you’ve got to think about that,” Pant said.

As he continues to struggle with the bat, Pant hopes to find his form and contribute to his team's success in the remainder of the tournament. Currently, LSG is seated at the sixth position in the points table with 10 points in 5 games.

Zaheer Khan Throws His Weight Behind Pant

Meanwhile, LSG mentor Zaheer Khan backed Rishabh Pant amid criticism, praising his leadership despite poor batting form. Zaheer said Pant is "ticking all the boxes" as captain and believes it's only a matter of time before he delivers with the bat, stressing that just one good innings could turn things around.
