Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra, believes that young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a stunning hundred on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test vs Dominica is well-positioned to convert his century into a double ton.

Finishing the second day with a score of 143 not out, Jaiswal has placed India in a commanding spot with 312/2 on the board and a significant lead of 162 runs in Dominica. In an analysis video posted on his YouTube channel, Chopra expressed the possibility of Jaiswal notching up a double ton.

The former Indian Test cricketer highlighted his overnight score of 143 and also mentioned that it wouldn't be unexpected for Jaiswal to reach his 200 as he possesses the skill to convert centuries into double centuries.

"Let's talk about Yashasvi Jaiswal first and the way he played. He is already playing on 143 and I won't be too surprised if he scores 200 as well because this player knows how to convert hundreds into double hundreds," said Chopra.

According to the renowned commentator, the talented southpaw displayed his ability to take risks by employing techniques such as using his feet and playing the reverse sweep and also showcased patience to spend a considerable amount of time at the crease.

Chopra reckoned that this indicates Jaiswal possesses the knowledge and skill to adapt to the traditional style of Test cricket.

"He showed both aspects of his game. He can take risks - use his feet, play the reverse sweep, he has the might to do that - but he can give himself time as well and stay at the wicket for a long time. So this player also knows the method to play retro Test cricket," added the 45-year-old.

Meanwhile, India will look to bat West Indies out of the game and they are certainly on course to do that. With Jaiswal inching towards a double century and Virat Kohli firmly settled at 36, India will be optimistic about posting a massive total in their first innings on Day 3.
