Renowned Pakistani cricketing icon, Inzamam ul Haq, has vehemently criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for what he perceives as unfair treatment towards Mohammad Hafeez.

In the wake of Pakistan's disappointing performances against Australia and New Zealand, the PCB opted to remove Hafeez from his role as team director

Inzamam ul Haq has raised concerns over the apparent singling out of Hafeez, calling into question the consistency and fairness of the PCB's actions.

Muhammad Hafeez's removal alone wasn't the focal point of Inzamam ul Haq's criticism; rather, it was the selective decision to dismiss him while retaining Wahab Riaz as the chief selector that troubled the former cricketing star.

Speaking on a televised program, Inzamam ul Haq expressed bewilderment over the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) rationale behind such actions, particularly amidst the prolonged period of instability within the board.

"Can someone explain the reasoning behind removing Muhammad Hafeez as team director but retaining Wahab Riaz as chief selector after the Australian and New Zealand tours?", Inzamam said on a TV show.

During the interview, Inzamam ul Haq raised a pointed query regarding the equal footing given to both Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz in their respective roles, yet only Hafeez faced repercussions for the team's subpar performance.

Expressing his perplexity, Inzamam ul Haq questioned the apparent lack of accountability on Wahab Riaz's part despite being appointed alongside Hafeez and sharing similar responsibilities.

"Weren't both appointed at same time and given same responsibilities so why has only Hafeez been held accountable and not Wahab Riaz?", he added.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's decision to dismiss Mohammad Hafeez follows a string of disappointing performances by the national team against Australia and New Zealand. Their defeat in the test series against Australia, losing all three matches, and the subsequent 4-1 loss in the T20I bilateral series against New Zealand have not only disappointed fans but also raised concerns within the board.

In response to these poor results, the board has taken decisive measures to address the situation and rectify the team's performance.

Inzamam ul Haq, who was requested to resign from his position as chief selector following the ICC Cricket World Cup due to an alleged "conflict of interest," has since awaited the outcome of the inquiry into this matter.

Expressing his frustration and concern, he raised poignant questions about the delay in resolving the issue and the perceived harshness of the chairman's actions. In seeking clarity and fairness, Inzamam ul Haq also urged for transparency in the process and for due consideration to be given to his side of the story.
