MS Dhoni's Remarkable Career

This recognition comes almost five years after Dhoni retired from international cricket. His last game for India was the semi-final of the 2019 ODI World Cup. He officially announced his retirement on August 15, 2020.

Under Dhoni's captaincy, India achieved incredible success. He's the only captain to have won all three major ICC limited-overs tournaments: the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2011 Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He also led India to victory in the Asia Cup in 2010 and 2016. His smart leadership and strategies also earned him the ICC One Day International Player of the Year Award in both 2008 and 2009.

Beyond his leadership, Dhoni also have impressive individual records. He was the first Indian wicket-keeper to score 4,000 runs in Test matches and holds the record for the most dismissals by an Indian wicket-keeper.

In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57, including 10 centuries and 73 half-centuries. His ability to perform under pressure and maintain his composure in tense situations has made him a beloved figure in Indian cricket.
