The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a 15-member women’s squad for their upcoming white-ball series (ODIs and T20Is) against South Africa. This series will be played at the historic 3Ws Oval in Barbados from June 11 to June 23. It includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 matches.

Captain Hayley Matthews will continue to lead the side. The only change from their recent tour of England is that all-rounder Chinelle Henry replaces Cherry-Ann Fraser in the squad.

The team is returning home after a tough time in England, where they lost all six matches (ODIs and T20Is). Now playing on familiar ground, the team is hoping to make a fresh start and show better performances in front of their home fans.

Miles Bascombe, Director of Cricket at Cricket West Indies, said this home series is a great chance for the team to regain confidence and show what they’re capable of.  He said,

“After a challenging tour, this home series offers the perfect opportunity for the team to regain their footing and reestablish their confidence playing in familiar conditions and in front of West Indian fans. We believe in this group’s talent and resilience, and we look forward to seeing them play purposeful, passionate cricket.”

The team arrived in Barbados on Sunday, June 8, and is getting ready for the first match on June 11.
