India’s stand-in captain, Hardik Pandya, has expressed his dissatisfaction with Cricket West Indies (CWI), highlighting the lack of basic facilities and logistical mishaps during India's ongoing tour of the Caribbean islands.

Hardik Pandya candidly criticized Caribbean tour facilities

Despite leading the team to an impressive series victory, Hardik pointed out certain organizational shortcomings that he believes need immediate attention.

In the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, Hardik steered the Indian team to a stunning 200-run win in Trinidad, securing a 2-1 victory in the three-match ODI series against West Indies.

Hardik himself shone with an unbeaten 70-run knock off 52 balls yet, it was his post-match comments at the Brian Lara Stadium that captured headlines, as he candidly called out the CWI.

The stand-in skipper expressed his satisfaction with the playing conditions at the Brian Lara Stadium, considering it one of the best grounds they have encountered.

However, he believes that improvements can be made for their next visit to the West Indies, not just in terms of travel arrangements but also in managing various aspects. He also highlighted that there were some issues during their last tour as well.

“This was one of the nicest grounds we have played (on). Things can be better when we come to West Indies next time. From travelling to managing a lot of things. Last year also some hiccups happened,” said Hardik.

Hardik further emphasized that the West Indies Cricket Board should take note of these concerns and ensure that when teams travel to their country, basic necessities are adequately provided for.

He clarified that they do not expect luxury but require essential amenities to be taken care of. Despite these concerns, the all-rounder stated that he enjoyed the experience of playing good cricket in West Indies.

“I think it's time for West Indies Cricket to take note of it and make sure that when a team travels... We don't ask for luxury, but we need some basic necessities taken care of. Other than that, really enjoyed coming here and playing some good cricket,” concluded the star all-rounder.

The 29-year-old's comments reflect the broader view within the Indian camp, as players had earlier expressed discontent over a delayed late-night flight that caused sleep deprivation and affected their preparation ahead of the series.

CWI now faces the task of responding to Hardik's comments and, more importantly, addressing the underlying concerns ahead of future tours.
