In a heartfelt plea to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Asghar Ali Raeisi, the coach of Iran's under-19 cricket team, has called for their support in advancing the growth of cricket in Iran. The request specifically urges the BCCI to visit Chabahar, a region that has shown immense potential for the sport's development, and extend their assistance.

Chabahar, home to the Chabahar Free Trade-Industrial Zone (CFZ) since its establishment in 1992, has set aside 40 hectares of land for a sports village. Among the planned facilities, a cricket stadium boasting a capacity of 4000 seats has been allocated 10 hectares. However, due to the economic sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States, the necessary resources to complete the stadium have been illusory.

Here's What Asghar Told ANI

"Iranian players have the talent to play good cricket internationally. But we fail to train them due to a lack of infrastructure. I wanted India to help us build the stadium so Iranian players can showcase their skills on a global platform."

He expressed his beliefs in the untapped potential of Iranian cricketers to excel on the international stage.

“We want Indian cricket management BCCI to train our players and umpiring in Iran so our players also can play cricket well. We would also expect Iranian players to be part to IPL matches,” he added.

He also revealed that the Iranian cricketers take inspiration from the renowned Indian players, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and other young Indian cricket players.

With this sincere appeal, Iran's cricket coach hopes to rally support from the BCCI, inviting them to contribute to the growth and development of the sport in Iran while fostering opportunities for talented Iranian cricketers to flourish on the global cricketing stage.
