'He Should Definitely Be There'- Anil Kumble Suggests Rohit, Dravid to Bring Back Star Spinner in Tests

India emerged victorious in the first Test match of the West Indies tour, crushing the home side by an innings and 141 runs at Windsor Park, Dominica.

Opting to bat first, West Indies believed the sluggish pitch demanded patience and substantial scores in the first innings. However, the Indian bowlers had other plans. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were in exceptional form as they masterfully dismantled the opposition, restricting them to 150 runs.

Continuing their onslaught on the hosts, the wily Indian spin duo bowled West Indies for a paltry 130 in their second innings, helping India record a clinical victory.

After witnessing the spinners' remarkable success in Dominica, former India captain Anil Kumble urged the team management to consider including Kuldeep Yadav for such favourable conditions.

Here's What Kumble Said On JioCinema

"He should definitely be there because he is a very good bowler. Leg-spinners are very attacking bowlers and it is also difficult at times, they concede runs as well but you need to take a leg-spinner along with you and groom him, and whenever you get a chance, he should be given an opportunity."

"Kuldeep Yadav is a very good spinner for Test matches. He has given very good performances whenever he has got a chance as well. There are a lot of wrist-spinners in white-ball formats. We are not getting to see them much in Test matches."

The wrist spinner, who last appeared in the Bangladesh tour last year, showcased an impressive performance by taking eight wickets, earning himself the player of the Match. Although Kuldeep was named in the squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home, he, unfortunately, missed out on the West Indies tour.

It's worth noting that Kuldeep has played 8 Test matches, scalping 34 wickets at an average of 21.55. Fans can look forward to seeing him return to action during the ODI series against the West Indies, which will occur after the Tests' conclusion.
