India's new era began on a high and bright note, thanks to the outstanding performances of Suryakumar Yadav and Co, who defeated Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I game at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on July 27 in the series opener.

This win had a big name behind it: Riyan Parag and his three-wicket haul against Charith Asalanka 's men. Sri Lanka, who started on a powerful note, almost stole the game. Until the 14 over, they were at 140, with the loss of just one wicket. 

However, the turning point of the match was when India managed to pick nine wickets for the subsequent 30 runs, showcasing their resilience and determination.

Talking about Riyan, 'the golden arm boy,' SKY revealed why he was picked in the Playing XI vs SL. In a video uploaded by BCCI on their official Twitter handle, SKY is heard saying, "Riyan Parag has a certain X-factor."

The Men in Blue secured a win by 43 runs, though they were tested by a spirited Sri Lankan team. With this victory, India leads the 3-match series 1-0. The two will next be seen squaring off with one another on 28 July.
