Abhishek Sharma failed in the first T20I against Zimbabwe but returned stronger and showcased his class and temperament in the second T20I against the same opposition on July 7. He played an explosive knock and scored 47 ball hundred, which included eight maximums and seven 4's. 

The century became more special when Yuvraj Singh congratulated the young batter on the video call and wished him luck for his knock.

In a video shared by BCCI after the match, the Punjab player called Yuvraj Singh. In the clip, Yuvraj said he is proud of Abhishek and believes many more hundreds will come from the southpaw's bat.

"Well done, very proud. You deserved it. Many more to come, this is just the start," Yuvraj said on the video-call with Abhishek Sharma.

After the innings, in the same video, the opener revealed that he used Shubman Gill's bat for the match. He also stated when he was on the field and struck a few boundaries he knew that 'it was his day' and made use of the opportunity. 

For his innings, he was awarded the Player of the Match and with his significant contribution, India beat Zimbabwe by 100 runs and levelled the series 1-1. The third T20I match between both teams will be played on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
