Young cricketer Abhishek Sharma showcased his talent with a remarkable century in the second T20I against Zimbabwe, only to depart soon after reaching the milestone. Playing at Harare Sports Club on July 7, Sharma, who had started his international career with a duck in the previous match, redeemed himself in spectacular fashion.

Opening the innings alongside Shubman Gill, the southpaw's innings was a display of aggressive batting prowess. After Gill's early dismissal, Abhishek took charge and blazed his way to a century off just 47 deliveries. 

His innings was filled with powerful strokes and timely partnerships, notably with Ruturaj Gaikwad.


However, in the 14th over of India's innings, Wellington Masakadza induced an edge off Sharma's bat. Attempting a forceful shot, Abhishek managed only a leading edge that was safely pouched by Dion Myers at backward point.

His departure, though abrupt, was met with applause from teammates and acknowledgment from captain Shubman Gill.

At the time of writing, India had have reached a commanding 172 for 2 in 17 overs, bolstered by Abhishek Sharma's impactful innings. .
