'I never thought I would score this much,' says Kohli

While speaking on Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the 2023 World Cup, the former skipper said that he never expected to score so many centuries and match-winning runs for his country over the span of 12 years. The legendary batsman added that it has always been his dream to contribute in Indian wins, and he made a lot of changes to his lifestyle to achieve his goal. He said:

“If you talk about cricket, where my career is right now, God has blessed me with a good career span and performances. I never thought it would pan out like this. I never thought I would score so many centuries and runs in 12 years. This has been my dream always about how to make my team win and give my 100 percent for my team.” 

“To achieve all this, a lot changes happened with time. Like my discipline, lifestyle. I always had the drive in my but didn't have this much professionalism.”
