Indian captain Rohit Sharma, currently in Mumbai for team’s subsequent World Cup 2023 challenge, expressed his surprise upon witnessing the city's polluted skyline. A couple of days ago, Sharma and his teammates arrived in Mumbai for their much-awaited showdown in a bid to sustain their unbeaten run in the tournament.

The cricketer, who is also a native of Mumbai, recently took to his Instagram account and expressed his reaction to the pollution that has enveloped the city.

Rohit Sharma shocked by Mumbai’s polluted skyline

Over the past few weeks, Rohit Sharma and his Indian troops have been travelling from city to city for their World Cup 2023 crusade at home. After trouncing defending champions England in Lucknow on October 29, the Indian team flew their way to Mumbai for their subsequent match, slated to be played on November 2 against Sri Lanka.

As they were making their way into the city, Sharma clicked a picture of Mumbai's skyline, which, to his surprise, had been enveloped by the rising pollution in the city. Taking to his Instagram account, the Indian captain shared a picture and wrote:

“Mumbai, yeh kya ho gaya?” (Mumbai, what happened?)

On the cricketing front, Rohit Sharma and co. will soon face Sri Lanka on November 2 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Indian team will head into the contest as the only unbeaten side of the 2023 World Cup, having registered six wins from their six fixtures thus far. Captain Sharma himself has led from the front with the bat, as he has charted splendid powerplay starts for his side with consistent match-winning runs.
