'Waha Se Khelna Pasand Karunga...,' Shami On His Future IPL Team Amid Retention Debate

Mohammed Shami last played for India in 2023 World Cup and since then he has undergone surgery and is trying his best to get fit again and make his comeback in the Indian side. Recently, there were news that he is still not fully fit and might miss the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia as Rohit Sharma in his press conference said that they are looking at the backup options.
However, just after the first Test ended, some clips emerged where Mohammed Shami was seen bowing in full tilt to Shubman Gill, signalling his return to full fitness. Now, on Monday, October 21st, he attended an event of Eugenix Hair Sciences in Gurgaon where he answered plenty of questions regarding his fitness and IPL future. He claimed that he is almost back to his full fitness and when asked about his favourite IPL team other than GT, he stated that he is okay with playing for any franchises that likes him and trusts his skills.
Mohammed Shami Keeps His Options Open For IPL 2025
Mohammed Shami also mentioned that IPL is a business and one he always tries to give his 100 percent to the franchise that trusts his skills. He added that it is important to stay loyal with the franchise one is playing for but did not reveal whether he would be retained by GT or not.
"Jo mujhe le lega, mai uske liye khel lunga. IPL business bhi hai, game bhi hai. Jisko mai pasand hu, meri skills pasand hai, mai waha se khelna pasand karunga. Depend karta hai koni franchise aap pe trust karti hai. Agar koi bhi franchise aap pe trust dikhati hai, toh apko loyalty ke saath waha jaana padega. Mai koshish karta hu jis bhi franchise ke liye khelu, waha 100 percent deu."
Mohammed Shami also mentioned that he will play try to play Ranji Trophy if possible and if he does play for Bengal in the upcoming Ranji round, he might well be on that flight to Australia for BGT.
