India's premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami reckons he has completely recovered from the ankle injury and eyes an international comeback in the upcoming Australia tour. India will face Australia in a five-match Test series starting from November 22. Considering his ability and experience, India would like the seamer to feature in the high-voltage series.

Mohammed Shami Updates His Recovery Status

Speaking to reporters at an event organised by Eugenix Hair Sciences, Shami revealed that he felt 100 per cent fit after his full-throttle bowling session at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After the hosts' disastrous defeat in the first Test against New Zealand, the pacer bowled several overs to India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.

"Very happy with how I bowled yesterday. I was bowling with half run-up, because I didn't want to take too much risk. But yesterday, I decided to go full tilt and bowled at a 100 per cent," Shami said.

Shami further stated that he would make a final decision about his Border-Gavaskar Trophy participation only after assessing himself in a few Ranji Trophy matches.

"I am hundred per cent pain-free. Everyone has been wondering about if I will play the Australia Tests, but there's a lot of time left for it. I only want to ensure that I am fit and strong before the Australia series. I will analyse what kind of attack we need to succeed there. So, I focus on spending more time on the ground and playing a couple of matches," Shami concluded.

Mohammed Shami's Injury Timeline

Mohammed Shami was pivotal in India's astounding success in the ODI World Cup, propelling them to the final with his outstanding performance. However, he sustained an ankle injury during the tournament, ruling him out of India's subsequent assignments. However, as he has recovered from the injury, we expect to see him in Indian colours very soon.
