'Virat Kohli May Comeback' - Former England Captain Makes Bold Prediction

Nasser Hussain believes the comeback win in the high-intense Visakhapatnam Test would add spring to India's strides and give them the belief to comeback harder in the following three Tests at England.

The former England skipper feels India will be stronger after securing a 1-1 parity in the five-match series, with a rare home Test hiccup in Hyderabad resulting in great criticism and flak for Rohit Sharma's men despite multiple first-choice players missing.

Rohit and company bounced back remarkably well after being put under pressure by England's ultra-aggressive 'Bazball' tactics as young batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill produced centuries and ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah took nine wickets in the hosts' 106-run victory.

Hussain Backs India After Win In Vizag

Speaking on Sky Sports, Hussain noted down the number of key players India are missing and why a return for one or two of them would only bolster an Indian side that would've taken immense belief and confidence out of their resurgent win in Visakhapatnam.

"It is set up perfectly, with three Tests to play. I think it will be a tight series but England are going to have to expect India to come back even harder. India have missed quite a few key players so far," Hussain said.

"Mohammad Shami, I think, is out for the series, Ravi Jadeja could well be out for another Test match and Virat Kohli has been out of the first two. We are talking about some serious cricketers there."

"Kohli may well come back in, KL Rahul also, so I would expect a stronger Indian side in those last three games of the series. England will know that they're going to have to up their game," he added.

While it appears certain that Rahul will comeback after missing the second Test due to quadriceps pain, there is no clarity on Kohli and Jadeja's participation ahead of the third Test in Rajkot from February 15 or the remainder of the series. The selectors haven't named the squad for the last three Tests and await further information on the two players as well as Shami before finalising the team.
