In the ongoing Under-19 World Cup semi-final encounter between South Africa and India, Richard Seletswane tried to hit a delivery straight down the ground and, unfortunately, it hit the umpire midway. The latter tried to take the evasive action but couldn’t escape.

The incident happened on the third delivery of the 25th over in the first innings. Musheer Khan bowled a fuller delivery to Richard Seletswane at the stumps. The South African batter was quick to react as he struck hard down the ground.

The bowler tried to put his hand out to stop the ball but it went on to hit the umpire’s thigh.

South African batter Richard Seletswane, meanwhile, is still at the crease and is unbeaten on 51 off 92. South Africa have managed to score 178 runs for the loss of five wickets at the end of 43 overs.

South Africa were in a pretty good position till the 28th over as they had managed 112 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. However, the Indian spinners put a break on the scoring rate and picked wickets at crucial intervals.

Musheer Khan broke the important third wicket partnership after accounting for the wicket of Lhuan-dre Pretorius for 72 (102). He then sent back Oliver Whitehead (22) to bring his team well and truly back in the contest. Musheer Khan, who has been exceptional form with the bat in the tournament, returned with stellar bowling figures of 2 for 43 in 10 overs.
