India's batting in the Test format has been a matter of a concern for a long time now, as they have not been able to show the temperament and skills to survive in difficult batting conditions.
The same story has continued in the Gabba Test where the top order has been blown away. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli along with Rishabh Pant failed to tackle quality bowling and Virat's dismissal while playing a cover drive has now become a talking point again.
Virat Kohli Struggles After Century In Perth
Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at Kohli's technique and Manjrekar through his official X handle has mentioned that it is time to look closely at a role of batting coach in the Indian team as some technical issues have been haunting Indian batters for a long time. Virat Kohli has been struggling with the fourth stump line for a long time and quite often gets out while trying to go after a wide delivery.
"I guess the time has come to scrutinise the role of a batting coach in the Indian team. Why major technical issues have remained unresolved for so long with certain Indian batters."
Virat Kohli scored century in the first Test, but apart from that one innings, he has struggled against a moving ball, and there are some technical deficiencies that he needs to sort out. India are starring down the barrel now, and if they want to make a comeback in the current BGT, they need players like Virat Kohli to fire and deliver for their side.
