The third Test between India and Australia is turning out to be quite a productive game for the home team as they have notched up a healthy first innings total and the bowlers have started off with the bang as well. India have struggled big time both with the ball and bat, and it seems that rain is the only thing that can help them savage a draw in the Gabba Test.
On Day 1, only 13.2 overs were bowled while there have been short spells of rain throughout the Test match. Day 3 has also been affected by the rain and the officials were forced to take Tea after rain halted the proceedings in the 15th over. There are showers expected for the rest of the day with precipitation chances around 60 percent for the remaining time of the third day.
Australia On Top In Gabba Test
So, there are high chances that there will be no play for the rest of the day, and it means that Aussies would have to push harder for a result in the remaining two days. For India to win this game, they would need something special, as they are still trailing by 397 runs with six wickets in hand.
Australia delivered a strong batting performance in the first innings as Travis Head and Steve Smith scored centutries to put India on the backfoot. Alex Carey with his 70 stretched the score close to 450 and then Starc bagged two while Cummins and Hazlewood got one each to put Australia right on top.
