During their PSL 2024 outing in Rawalpindi, Shadab Khan and Shan Masood, two of Pakistan’s match-winners who also captain Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, recently got into a heated argument.

There was a disagreement over a caught-behind review against Agha Salman. Apparently, Shadab felt Shan had exceeded the decision review system (DRS) deadline. Despite this, Shan insisted on taking charge of the review and instructed Shadab not to interfere.

During the recent press conference held after the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, Masood spoke and shared his thoughts on the intense exchange. In an interview with the media, Pakistan's Test skipper stressed that no hard feelings existed between him and Shadab.

"No hard feelings for Shadab. Shadab is one of my close friends. I took the review because I knew it wasn't out. Shadab came over and said the time was up, so I told him not to interfere in our matter and go back," Masood said, as quoted by cricketpakistan.com.pk.

Masood also emphasised how, as a result of the adrenaline rush, people project their unique viewpoints whenever things on the field do not go as planned.

"When we're friendly, people say there's too much dosti yaari. When someone shows some anger, people say they're going overboard. It's a passionate game," he added.

Having won four out of 10 matches, Karachi, led by Masood, finished fifth on the points table, only above Shaheen Afridi's Lahore Qalandars. Shadab's Islamabad, on the other hand, are placed third, having bagged 11 points from their 10 matches.
