Even though Harmanpreet Kaur no longer frequently plays match-winning knocks, you do not often see her having a bad day on the field. However, the unthinkable happened on Tuesday (March 12) during Mumbai Indians’ WPL 2024 clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

And the one who made it happen was Ellyse Perry, the golden girl of RCB.

Harmanpreet, who just played the best-ever WPL knock against Gujarat Giants with an unbeaten 95, came to bat at No. 3 after Perry clean bowled S Sajana during the ninth over of MI’s innings.

Then, the Australian all-rounder bowled a length delivery outside the off stump, and Kaur, while attempting to play a drive, dragged it onto the stumps to fall for a golden duck.

Meanwhile, Perry is on a roll in Delhi, having taken four crucial wickets in her first three overs while conceding just 10 runs. She also took a brilliant catch near the boundary line to draw the first blood, which means she has been involved in every five MI dismissals.

The Harmanpreet-led side, as of writing, are batting on 76/5 after 11.5 overs in Match 19 of the competition.
