India's comparatively young but passionate side decimated England in the third Test of the five-match series as the hosts earned a gigantic 434-run victory courtesy of special efforts from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja.

Jaiswal banged his second Test double-hundred, that too in consecutive games, as he also managed to breach the most sixes in an innings record held by Wasim Akram by levelling his 12 sixes. Besides him, skipper Rohit Sharma also played an impressive 131-run knock in the first innings, while Shubman Gill and debutant Sarfaraz Khan played their part.

But the performance of the match was given by none other than rockstar Ravindra Jadeja, who smashed a brilliant century in the first innings while getting five of the English batters dismissed in the second.

After the game, Jadeja explained that they were looking to build partnerships after being in trouble in the first innings with the simple logic of playing the ball to its merit. Adding that, winning the toss was an added bonus for them, as batting first and bowling second is always beneficial in these conditions.

"I was just looking to build partnerships with Rohit, we were in a difficult situation, look to back my strengths, play my shots, not try and be more conscious. Watch the ball and play the ball. I know about this wicket, if we bat first, it is always good to bat on, in the second half it starts spinning, when Rohit won the toss, we were thinking: this is all what we wanted, bat first, bowl second. On this wicket you won't get easy wickets, you have to work hard for it. You need to throw balls in good areas, you have to earn your wickets."

After this game, India and England will fight it out in the remaining two Tests, with the next one to be played in Ranchi from 23rd February.
