India's ace spin bowling all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the finest spinners in the world as during the third Test between India and England, the right-armer picked his 500th wicket in the longest format of the game.

Bowling on the second day of the Test, the off-spinner scalped the wicket of opener Zak Crawley, who proved to be his milestone wicket in red-ball cricket and something he will surely remember for the rest of his life.

Ashwin is known to have an astute mind both on and off the field, as he did something remarkable a few days back during the BCCI Naman Award Show which happened in Hyderabad.

In a special segment named 'Red Carpet' released by broadcaster JioCinema, Ashwin was asked about all the landmark victims in his Test career.

Beginning with his maiden wicket, Ash started with perfection as he answered 'Darren Bravo' for the first dismissal that he ever had in the white jersey. Here is how the entire conversation went,

Presenter: If I have to ask you, your first ever Test wicket. Who'll that be?

Ashwin: Darren Bravo.

Presenter: And Your 50th?

Ashwin: Darren Sammy. Oh no, Wait. 50th is Nick Compton.

Presenter: 100th Test Wicket?

Ashwin: Darren Sammy.

Presenter: 150th?

Ashwin: Imran Tahir.

Presenter: Well Done. 200th?

Ashwin: Kane Williamson.

Presenter: Brilliant. 250th?

Ashwin: Mushfiqur Rahim.

Presenter: Wow! 300th? This might be a tricky one!

Ashwin: Lahiru Gamage.

Presenter: 350th?

Ashwin: This is a tougher one. I can't remember actually. Hold on. Let me think about it. Ahh... series, where did it come? Any clues?

Presenter: If you think AB de Villiers, it might be a clue.

Ashwin: No, I am stumped!

Presenter: Should I give you the dismissal? Bowled for a score of 10.

Ashwin: No, I can't remember!

Presenter: It's Theunis de Bruyn.

Ashwin: Ohh yeah! I think it was in Vizag.

Presenter: Yes. And 400th?

Ashwin: Jofra Archer.

Presenter: Do you remember the mode of dismissal?

Ashwin: LBW.

Presenter: Do you remember what score he was on?

Ashwin: It probably was a two-ball duck.

Presenter: It was a duck. Well done! 450th?

Ashwin: Must be pretty recent. Was it against Australia?

Presenter: Yes.

Ashwin: As I told you, when I am really enjoying the game so, it doesn't really cross.

Presenter: But you remember all of it.

Ashwin: Okay, it's Alex Carey.

Presenter: Absolutely! And your 500th? (Cheekily)

As soon as this was asked, both laughed it off, ending the conversation between the two as Ashwin went ahead to join the award function hosted by the BCCI.

Coming back to the present, India put on 445 on the board after Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja sparkled with their respective centuries. England, in reply, proved too hot to handle as Ben Duckett starred with a blazing century to end the day two on 207 for the loss of two wickets.
