India will lock horns with England in the highly-anticipated second Test match starting Friday, February 02 in Visakhapatnam. The Men in Blue will look to bounce back after a dramatic loss in the series opener.

However, just before the second Test kicks off, India is hit hard as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are ruled out of the game. Bringing some optimism, Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar are now part of the squad.

Amidst the uncertainty of who will fill in for the star duo, it's settled that the ‘local boy’ KS Bharat will continue as the wicketkeeper-batter, credited for his stellar performances with the bat and wicket keeping skills.

Notably, KS Bharat, hailing from Andhra Pradesh in domestic cricket, must be eager to make his debut on his home turf for India. His familiarity with the conditions is bound to enhance India's prospects against the Three Lions.

Ahead of the 2nd Test, KS Bharat opened up about the excitement of playing in front of his home crowd. Despite the overwhelming feeling, he emphasised that his primary focus is on the game.

Here’s what KS Bharat said:

“There will be a lot of noises when you are playing for your country, there will be good noises, there will be bad noises, but the thing is you have to be in the present moment.

For me, it’s definitely a proud moment to be playing in front of the home crowd. But if you will look at the bigger picture, there is a Test game and that’s where our whole focus is. It’s definitely an overwhelming feeling, but you have to let it sink and focus on the Test game.”

Earlier, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) honoured the Indian wicketkeeper in a special ceremony held at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Thursday, February 1, for becoming only the second Indian from Andhra to play Test cricket for India.
