Sushant Mishra, the left-arm seamer hailing from Ranchi, created a buzz in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction as he secured a whopping INR 2.20 crores deal with Gujarat Titans, the previous season's finalists.

Mumbai Indians kicked off the bidding, and Gujarat Titans jumped in the fray as Sushant set his base price INR 20 lakhs. The bidding race was a whirlwind, breezing past 1 crore before Gujarat pocketed him for INR 2.20 crores.

Opening up about his recent deal, Sushant Mishra couldn't hide his excitement to be a part of Gujarat Titans, where he looks forward to sharing the field with the likes of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav. Here’s what he said on RevSportZ:

“I’m quite excited to play for the Titans, because there is Aashish Kapoor sir, who I have worked with during my under-19 days. There is Shami bhai, Umesh bhai, all these senior players. Looking forward to playing some good cricket and also having some fun.”

Sushant Mishra got the call from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to be a net bowler back in 2020. After two years of grinding it out in the nets, his hard work paid off as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spotted his talent in IPL 2022, and picked him in the squad as a replacement.

The young pacer is yet to make his IPL debut and the million-dollar question is whether Sushant Mishra will clinch a spot in the playing 11 for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024, especially with the already stellar lineup of fast bowlers on the team.
