Rohit Sharma's sudden retirement from Test cricket on May 7, 2025, sent a shockwave among the fans as the supporters refused to believe that the hitman bid adieu to the game in an unexpected manner.
At present, Rohit is only active in ODIs as the hitman targets the 2027 ODI World Cup, the only trophy missing in his cabinet, as he recently led India to Champions Trophy success in February 2025.

Meanwhile, in the latest events, former India selector Jatin Paranjape, speaking to the Times of India, has revealed that the hitman has been suffering from a hamstring injury for the last four months and revealed that the 38-year-old also played the Champions Trophy with discomfort.
"He could have played a little bit more. I thought maybe for a couple more years. Rohit Sharma was also struggling with a hamstring injury for the last four or five months. He didn't get a lot of rest," Paranjape said speaking to Times of India.
"I thought he could have played a little more because he was batting superbly. You know, he'd score 10 or 15 or 20, but that hook shot - that was his trademark. Amazing," he added.

Rohit's struggle in the last few months were also highlighted during IPL 2025, where the hitman played most of the games as an impact player. Also, the 38-year-old had missed a match because he got hit in the nets and couldn't feature against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Notably, the India captain is currently on vacation mode with his family and next will be in action against Australia in October later this year. However, there is also a possibility of Sri Lanka Tour in August.
