On Thursday, July 17, the much-awaited Max 60 Caribbean League kicked off in George Town. The ongoing season features several Indians, such as Ankit Rajpoot, who is featuring for the Vegas Vikings. Notably, the likes of Rishi Dhawan and Shabaz Nadeem are also playing in the second season of Max 60.

Rajpoot played his first match on Friday, July 18, against Caribbean Tigers, but failed to pick up a solitary wicket, resulting in his side's 10-wicket defeat.

Meanwhile, Rajpoot and others' participation has raised doubts among fans as to how the BCCI allowed Indian players to feature in overseas leagues.

What Does the BCCI Rule Suggest?

Notably, the BCCI has barred Indian players from playing in any other foreign leagues other than the IPL. A Player must announce retirement or take an NOC from the board to play in overseas leagues.

It is the same reason why players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and several other top stars didn't play any other league other than the IPL.

How Did BCCI Allow Ankit Rajpoot To Play Max 60 Caribbean T10 League?

Notably, the 31-year-old never played any international games and was never a part of the BCCI's central contract system. Further, Rajpoot's last IPL appearance too came in 2020. Further, the BCCI has only restricted the IPL stars from playing T20 leagues across the globe, but there is no restriction on playing T10 leagues as they are not recognised.

T10 leagues are on the rise but pose no threat to the likes of IPL, which is why there is no given rule or law regarding Indian players' participation in global T10 leagues. It is the reason why Ankit, Shahbaz Nadeem and Rishi Dhawan are a part of the Max 60 Caribbean T10 League.
