Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has expressed her team’s unwavering determination to win the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking through a media release by the ICC, Kaur emphasised that the team’s ultimate goal is to lift the coveted trophy and bring glory to the country. 

She further added that the squad is driven by an undeniable hunger for victory and will leave 'no stone unturned' in their pursuit of playing a fearless brand of cricket.

Harmanpreet Kaur in a statement filled with ambition and confidence stated that winning the World Cup remains the team’s primary goal. She emphasised that there is no shortage of drive in the team, and every player is fully committed to going the distance and playing an aggressive, fearless cricket. 

"There is no shortage of ambition and drive in this team, and we will leave no stone unturned as we look to make a mark and go the distance, playing a fearless brand of cricket.The expectation is straightforward: to bring glory to the country and our supporters who back us to the hilt, no matter which part of the world we play in," Harmanpreet Kaur said, according to a media release by the ICC.

For the 2024 edition, India will play in the UAE for the first time. Kaur expressed excitement at the prospect, noting that the team is looking forward to playing in Dubai and Sharjah and expects strong crowd support.

"Every member of the team looks at the Women’s T20 World Cup, in addition to every match we play, as an opportunity to put our best foot forward collectively and inspire the young and aspiring cricketers across. Our expectation is to win the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. It is something we as a team have been striving for, for a while, and lifting the trophy will remain our goal," the skipper added.

It is worth mentioning that, India will play two official warm-up matches against the West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1, both at the ICC Academy in Dubai. 

The Women in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4. The team will also face defending champions Australia in Sharjah on October 13, with three of their four group matches set to take place in Dubai.
