Harmapreet Kaur's India To Have 10-Day Camp At NCA Before T20 World Cup 2024 - Reports
India Women's cricket team (X)
The India Women's cricket team will kick off a crucial 10-day skills camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Tuesday, September 10, in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the UAE.
ßHead coach Amol Muzumdar will oversee the camp, which aims to fine-tune the team's preparations for the tournament. The full-strength squad, along with reserves allotted for the team will gather in Bengaluru.
This includes wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and all-rounder Shreyanka Patil. These players had been conditionally named in the 15-member World Cup squad subject to fitness clearance.
According to reports of Cricbuzz, Bhatia has recovered from a knee injury. On the other hand, Patil is recovering from a finger fracture. Both have passed their fitness tests and secured the necessary NOCs to join the camp.
Bhatia had been sidelined with a grade 1 tear of the PCL in her left knee, which occurred during the first T20I against Bangladesh in March. Patil suffered a fracture in her left hand during India’s Asia Cup opener against Pakistan in July.
Following the camp, the players will have a brief, four-day break before regrouping in Mumbai for their departure to the UAE on September 24. India will play two official warm-up matches against the West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1, both at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
The Women in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4. The team will also face defending champions Australia in Sharjah on October 13, with three of their four group matches set to take place in Dubai.
