After a prolonged hiatus due to an ankle injury, star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is making headlines with a viral video showcasing his return to the nets.

Shami, who has been absent from the cricket field since the ODI World Cup last November, is now on the path to recovery and aiming for a comeback.

Shami Shares Recovery Update

Mohammed Shami took to social media to share an update on his progress.

In the video, he can be seen bowling cautiously, indicating that while he has recovered from his injury, he is taking a measured approach to regaining full intensity.

"Vibing with the latest, grinding for the greatest," Shami captioned his post, which quickly gained attention from cricket fans.

The 33-year-old pacer underwent surgery earlier this year to address his injured ankle, a recovery process that took longer than expected.

His absence was notably felt during key cricketing events, including the IPL 2024, the T20 World Cup, the South Africa tour, and the five-match Test series against England.

Despite his injury, Shami was a standout performer in the ODI WC 2023 in India, emerging as the highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in seven matches at an average of 10.70.

Looking ahead, Shami is likely to make his comeback during the home series against Bangladesh, where India will host two Tests and three T20 Internationals in September-October.

His return will be a significant boost for Team India, which has seen new pacers like Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh stepping up in his absence.
