Rinku Singh, India's promising middle-order batter recently spoke about his exclusion from the Duleep Trophy 2024 squads.

Majority of the Indian players, barring a couple of seniors have been included in the Duleep Trophy squads, a tournament which kick-starts India's domestic campaign. However, Rinku's absence raised an eyebrow, as the southpaw was expected to be picked in the four teams taking part in the tournament.

The left-handed batter has already established himself as a key member of the T20I squad, and was also included in the Indian team as a reserve player for the T20 World Cup. Depite boasting stellar numbers, Rinku was excluded, and now the talented batter has spoken about his exclusion.


"Nothing...I didn't perform that well (in the domestic season). I didn't play many matches in the Ranji Trophy...I played 2-3 matches. I wasn't selected because I didn't play that well. I might get selected for next-round matches," Rinku told Sportstak.

Recently, he was a part of the India squad which travelled to Zimbabwe for a 5-game T20I series. Rinku was also a part of India's winning squad which clean swept Sri Lanka 3-0.

He is most likely to be seen in action in the T20Is against Bangladesh, starting in October.
