Basit Ali has expressed strong disapproval of the Pakistani team management's decision to release leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed and batting all-rounder Kamran Ghulam ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh.

With Abrar Ahmed no longer part of the squad, Pakistan will enter the first Test without a frontline spinner, raising concerns about the team's balance.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali criticized the decision, suggesting it could negatively impact Abrar's confidence.

I think it is a bad decision: Basit Ali

"I think it is a bad decision by the team management. Now it is being said that they released them so that they don't need to sit out. The pitches won't be like the England series this time because home advantage should be taken. By leaving out your main bowler and putting him in a side match, you are ruining his confidence," he said.

Abrar Ahmed has made an impressive start to his Test career, claiming 38 wickets in just six matches. He will join the Shaheens squad for the second four-day match against Bangladesh A.

Both Abrar and Kamran Ghulam are expected to return for Pakistan's second and final Test against Bangladesh.
