'PCB Hasn't Treated Him Well...' - Harsha Bhogle Shows Support For Babar Azam

There is no doubt Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been the talk of the town at the moment as far as Pakistan Cricket is concerned. However, the talk hasn't been for any good reason, as the 29-year-old has been put under immense criticism due to Pakistan's poor performance in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in India.

The Men in Green got off to a good start as they won both of their first two games against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, they could not continue their winning momentum. Babar Azam and Co. suffered four consecutive defeats, including one against arch-rivals India, and currently find themselves in an early exit position in the competition.

As a result, there has been constant criticism of the Pakistan captain and his leadership back at home, along with some news of a potential change in captaincy going forward. Reputed Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle sheds huge support for Babar and believes that the charismatic right-hander has not been treated well by the board and media.

Speaking on Cricbuzz ahead of the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan, Bhogle reflected on his views towards the way Babar Azam has been treated in Pakistan cricket in the past few days and claimed that there might be a PSL franchise behind such news.

"They (PCB) haven't treated Babar Azam well at all. Lahore Qalandars are an influential franchise, so you can see where all the noises are coming from," Bhogle said.

Moreover, Bhogle further stretched his praise for Babar, his exceptional talent, and the quality he possesses in his batting. For Pakistan to have an outside chance in this tournament, Bhogle believes Babar is exactly the kind of player they need to turn things around.

Michael Vaughan lashes out at Pakistan Cricket

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also expressed his views on the show and lashed out at Pakistan Cricket for the way Babar has been treated in the middle of an important World Cup campaign.

"I just don't like the lack of respect that Babar Azam is being shown. I think it's a disgrace that the news of Shaheen Afridi becoming the next captain is going around. We are seeing these stories about changing the captain during the World Cup. Leave it till the end," Vaughan added.

Pakistan broke their four-match losing streak and got the important two points against Bangladesh under their bag.
