Pakistan’s 23-year-old opener Abdullah Shafique continued to impress in the ongoing World Cup 2023 by hitting an impressive 69-ball 68 against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In the process, the stylish opener has emerged as one of the most consistent performers in the competition, which includes Virat Kohli.

Before the Bangladesh fixture, Shafique scored 113 against Sri Lanka, 64 against Australia, and 58 against Afghanistan, and had two failures in the competition, against India (20) and South Africa (9). With his impeccable form, he became the joint-highest 50+ scorer in the World Cup 2023, alongside Kohli, Aiden Markram, Rachin Ravindra, and Pathum Nissanka.

It is also important to mention that Shafique is Pakistan's second highest leading run-scorer at the time of writing, just a run fewer than Mohammad Rizwan's tally (333). His strike rate of 95.13, which comes at an average of 55.33, also speaks volumes.

Meanwhile, Quinton de Kock tops the chart among the top-scorers, having aggregated 431 runs over six outings at an average of 71.83. David Warner is second in this chart, with an average of 68.83. They are followed by Rachin Ravindra (406), Rohit Sharma (398), and Aiden Markram (356). Kohli is sixth, with 354 runs at an average of 88.50.
