‘Only Pakistan Can Manufacture..’, Nasser Hussain Trolls PAK After Batting Collapse Vs India

Pakistan’s famed batting line-up crumbled like a pack of cards against India in their high-profile World Cup 2023 showdown in Ahmedabad. Sitting comfortably at 155-2 with star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan settled at the crease, the ‘Men in Green’ folded up for just 191 inside 43 overs to signal a crashing end to their innings.

Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj triggered the colossal collapse by cleaning up Babar against the run-of-play, and his untimely dismissal subsequently led to a series of wickets, with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav all piling up on Pakistan’s batting misery in front of over 100,000 buzzing spectators.

While Pakistan’s sudden batting breakdown came as a surprise to many, former England captain and on-air commentator Nasser Hussain seems to have expected the outcome as he left a hilarious remark over their performance.

‘Only Pakistan can collapse…’ Nasser Hussain

Nasser Hussain, one of the commentators for the 2023 World Cup, was seemingly not surprised by Pakistan’s disorganized batting effort in the backend of their innings against India. The former English skipper, while on air, claimed that only an unpredicted team like Pakistan can manufacture a batting collapse of such proportions on the big stage. He said:

“It’s a collapse that only Pakistan can manufacture.”

Prior to the contest, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. The ‘Men in Green’ started cautiously, yet confidently, as they countered India’s new-ball threat to race to a 41-run opening stand. However, Mohammed Siraj gave India their first breakthrough by trapping Abdullah Shafique in front of stumps at the brink of powerplay.

Following Imam-ul-Haq’s dismissal, captain Babar Azam and fellow senior batsman Mohammad Rizwan took their side past the 150-run mark with counterattacking diligence before Indian bowlers unleashed absolute wreckage on the field.
