The five-match Test series known as Border Gavaskar Trophy, promises to be an exciting contest as the two teams navigate through a series of challenging Test matches over five different venues across Australia. Ahead of the high-octane clash between Australia and India in Perth starting from Friday India's stand-in skipper and one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, Jasprit Bumrah addressed the media.

Bumrah emphasized that his team is not burdened by the historic 0-3 home defeat to New Zealand, as they focus on the upcoming challenging Test series against fierce rivals Australia. The players are fully prepared and determined to perform at their best in the new series.

"When you win you start from zero but when you lose, then also you also start from zero. We are not carrying any baggage from India. Yes, we have our learnings from New Zealand series but those were different conditions and our results here have been different," said Bumrah, who is leading in the opening Test in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who is on paternity leave.

He also said that the team has finalised its playing XI although he will reveal it only at the toss.

"We have finalised our playing XI and you will get to know tomorrow morning before the start of the match," the skipper said.

However, there are strong chances that Harshit Rana, who is known for his hit-the-deck style, could be handed his debut cap in Perth. He has been focusing on improving his skills in the nets and given his practice and Gambhir's familiarity with his game, there's a strong possibility that Harshit will be included in the playing XI especially considering that Mohammad Shami would be unavailable and Mohammed Siraj has not been on his best performance.
