Australian wicket-keeper batter, Beth Mooney has entered the record books for achieving a unique feat. The Perth Scorchers' star became the first female player in the history of the Women's Big Bash League to complete 5000 runs in the tournament.
Interestingly, she is also the first player to reach this milestone if we take into account both WBBL and BBL. In the men's tournament, Christopher Austin Lynn is the highest run-scorer having amassed a total of 3725 runs from 120 BBL games. On the other hand, Beth Mooney achieved this feat in the span of 140 WBBL matches.

Perth Scorcher's Star Mooney Creates History
The 30-year-old batter hailing from Shepparton reached this significant milestone during the on-going match 34 between Perth Scorchers Women and Sydney Sixers Women at the Bellerive Oval Hobart.
Perth Scorchers Women's innings got a rough start, with Maddy Darke getting dismissed cheaply for five in the second over. However, Mooney and Brooke Halliday steadied the ship quickly. The pair played cautiously through the early overs as the scoreboard read 29/1 at the end of the power play.
After settling in, Mooney began hitting the boundaries quite effortlessly, as was evident by her class at the crease. Halliday provided excellent support as the pair put together a solid partnership. A historic effort characterised Mooney's serene knock of 44 runs off 37 balls helped her achieve the unique feat in WBBL.
