The Pakistan Super League is poised to conclude today with a highly anticipated showdown between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.

Multan Sultans claimed the top spot in the group stage, showcasing their dominance throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, Islamabad United persevered through challenges to secure their place in the final. It's expected to be an electrifying clash as both teams vie for the coveted title.

Multan Sultans' captain, Mohammad Rizwan, addressed the media ahead of the final, acknowledging that his team was not highly rated by many. He explained his reasoning, citing teams like Islamabad and Quetta as the top contenders.

However, he commended the players for consistently delivering when it mattered the most. He said:

“If you look from the beginning, nobody rated our team so highly. Even when I look at my own prediction, I felt Islamabad or Quetta would be the best teams because of Hasaranga as well. But the way our team has performed has been on the spot. Where the batters were needed, they delivered, where the bowlers were needed, they delivered."

In his final remark before the game, Rizwan said that despite facing strong opposition, the outcome ultimately depends on the day's performance.

He also stressed the importance of starting each day afresh, highlighting that while past performances can boost confidence, it's crucial to approach each match with a clean slate. He stated:

“Islamabad's team has been strong from the beginning. But I believe that the performance on the day of the match matters more. Whatever happened in the past is good for confidence. But you have to perform every day."

In Qualifier 1, Multan Sultans comfortably defeated Peshawar Zalmi to secure their spot in the finale. The Sultans' bowlers delivered superbly, while their batters made quick work of the chase, securing victory with seven wickets and nine deliveries to spare.
