Hardik Pandya has been the centre of attention since taking on the mantle of Mumbai Indians. However, he has also garnered attention for the wrong reasons due to recurring injury concerns. His injuries have led to significant setbacks, with the Indian team notably missing his services in crucial tournaments like World Cup, resulting in a weakened middle order.

However, now that the player has returned from injury, he is set to lead the team in IPL 2024. Yet, there is one pressing question that has been on the minds of fans and pundits alike: the upcoming T20 World Cup in June 2024.

When asked about the T20 spots up for grabs, the medium-paced all-rounder expressed his willingness to support his players if they are selected.

Furthermore, he emphasized that every player will have their aspirations to represent the national team and asserted that he will urge his players to give their best for the IPL franchise before anything else. He said:

“I am a firm believer that you should be playing for the team that you are playing for. Everyone can have goals, targets of playing for the national team. But we should be honest and will tell my boys to delivery our best for Mumbai Indians. In that way, if someone gets a call-up for the Indian team, I would be happy.”

Since the beginning of the campaign's auction and trade window, Hardik Pandya has remained the focal point of attention. Initially, amidst rumors about his potential deal before the retention deadline, Pandya did not move to Mumbai Indians.

However, a day later, there was a plot twist when Mumbai Indians announced the trade of Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans. Simultaneously, Cameron Green was sent to Royal Challengers Bangalore in exchange to make the purse available to accommodate Pandya.
