India's emerging star, Nitish Kumar Reddy, has revealed a very unexpected part of his life that has helped him transform himself and find motivation to get through varied stages of his cricketing career. The Visakhapatnam-born all-rounder, who is a part of SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL, recently debuted during the first T20I at Gwalior between India and Bangladesh.

His brilliant performance throughout the three-match series left viewers impressed. Nitish Reddy even won the Player of the Match award for his spectacular all-round performance during the second T20I, where he slammed his maiden half-century and even picked up two crucial wickets for the Men In Blue.
In a recent interview with cricket.com, the 21-year-old stunner, revealed how Japanese Manga helped him navigate life and cricket, developing patience and learning to push your limits.He said that the popular Japanese anime Naruto played an active role in motivating him as a teenager.
Naruto Motivated Nitish In All Spheres of Life
The series, which has well over 500 episodes, helped him find motivation through various stages of his cricketing career, including at the gym, when he needed to push himself beyond the limits.
"It's about 500 episodes or something like that. You need to have that patience. But I connected to that character, Naruto, and it greatly boosted me by motivating me. You need to motivate yourself. No other guy is coming to motivate you and push you to your limits," the Andhra-born said.
He also went on to talk about the seven centres of the spiritual power in the human body and how he pushed himself whenever he felt drained in terms of energy.
"There is this Chakra [seven centres of spiritual power in the human body] thing in that. That's inner energy. So, whenever your energy is drained, you need to push yourself. I used to use that motivation to work out. That helped me a lot at that time," he added.

It has been quite the year for Reddy as after his brilliant debut international series. He has now been selected in the Test squad for the all-important BGT in Australia. Nitish, who is a seam-bowling all-rounder, is a rare asset and his inclusion in the team speaks volumes.
