Doting Father Bumrah After India's 295-Run Victory

India's stand-in skipper, Jasprit Bumrah addressed the post-match press conference, after the visitors clinched a remarkable 295 run victory against Australia in the first Test match at Perth. When asked about his son, Bumrah said that although Angad is fairly young, he has so many stories to tell him when he turns older.

"My son and wife are here. He is still very young, but when he grows up, I have so many stories to tell. Winning the T20 World Cup and now here in Perth," he said.

Jasprit Bumrah created history by becoming the first-ever captain in the world to defeat Australia at the Optus Stadium. He picked up his second fifer against Australia in the first innings and then followed that up with an outstanding three-wicket haul, his brilliance even earned him the Player of The Match award.

Jasprit Bumrah On Yashasvi Jaiswal

However, speaking exactly how a captain should, Jasprit Bumrah said that the award should have been given to youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, who slammed 161 runs against the home-team and gave them a taste of the Jais-ball.

He began his Australian tour with a duck in the first innings but made the amends in the second with an impact knock of 161 for which he consumed 297 balls and hit 15 fours and three sixes. It was left-handed Jaiswal's fourth Test hundred, two of them being double centuries.

"That was Jaiswal's best Test innings so far. He left the ball well. He likes to attack but he left a lot of balls," India's stand-in skipper Bumrah said.

Meanwhile, India will now meet Australia in the second Test in Adelaide starting from 6 December onwards.
